  Finance Manager

Starting Salary: £29,671 – £35,855 (including 10% employer’s pension contribution)

As Finance Manager, you will be a highly capable accountant bringing leadership to the operational running of TLG’s finance function. As a strong team leader, the Finance Manager plays a key role in leading a finance team who are excited about enabling the local church to make a difference in the lives of struggling children and families and who are equipped and empowered to bring financial leadership across the charity.

You will have clear systematic thinking and resolute leadership will be essential to influence and support the implementation of system changes needed to enable financial management in an increasingly complex organisation. You will support the Director of Finance to drive efficiencies throughout the organisation and will be critical friend in playing a crucial role in applying rigorous methodology across the Finance department.

As a member of TLG’s wider leadership group, the Finance Manager will also play a key role in the organisation’s wider business development, including TLG’s commercial subsidiary Hope Park Business Centres. This exciting role will work externally, connecting key stakeholders and managing relationships across TLG. This will include close interactions with TLG’s Church Partners & Proprietors, offering financial advice & guidance that are in line with TLG’s culture and processes.

Finance Officer

Starting Salary: £18,022 – £22,487 (FTE)
Working hours: 37.50 Hours Two posts available: one permanent and one 12 month fixed term.

Location: National Support, West Yorkshire

The Finance Officer will support the Finance Director and Finance Manager to deliver high quality and timely financial information. Working as an integral part of the Finance Team, the Finance Officer will organise personal workloads to meet all relevant financial timetables.

You will have an excellent understanding of financial operations including sales and purchase ledger, credit control and data input and processing. A proven ability to work in an accurate and timely manner is essential.

The role requires you to work as a member of a team in a supportive way and an ability to self-motivate and complete tasks with the minimum of supervision. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required and experience of Sage Accounting is preferred but not essential.

Bolton Head Teacher

Working as part of the TLG centre team in Bolton, in partnership with Farnworth Baptist Church, the Head Teacher post provides a unique opportunity to support young people experiencing educational crisis.

TLG Bolton is an independent school, providing alternative education provision delivering tailored social and educational interventions and education for young people age 11-16. TLG is looking for a qualified teacher with a passion to turn around the lives of disaffected young people aged 12-16. Leading our TLG Bolton School (alternative provision) as the Head Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional educational programmes with imaginative curricula for disaffected young people, with proven skills and strategies to re-engage those on the verge of exclusion.

Working as part of the TLG centre team in TLG Nottingham, the Teaching Assistant post provides a unique opportunity to support young people experiencing educational crisis.

TLG Nottingham is an Independent School delivering alternative education provision that delivers tailored social and educational interventions for young people. As the Teaching Assistant, you will play an integral role in enabling young people to get their lives back on track, through delivering innovative programmes and working with the Centre Manager to ensure that the education centre achieves success.

You will be part of a dedicated team committed to helping young people progress. The role involves providing one-to-one and group support to students in lessons, planning and teaching either PSHE, Art and Citizenship subjects, assisting with the planning and delivery of lessons as a crucial member of the team, leading sessions as timetabled, and bringing excellence to the young people’s learning experience. The individual will also act as a link between TLG’s students, their families and the church community.

TLG Volunteer Programmes are available for churches who have a heart for the struggling children and families in their communities. For Early Intervention (EI), we train, equip and support volunteers to coach children for an hour a week in school. For Make Lunch (ML), we train and support volunteers to provide nutritious meals and activities during the school holidays.

The TLG Regional Leader role offers a unique opportunity to manage a cluster of EI Centres and ML clubs within the South West of England (this includes the west side of London and beyond to Reading and Southampton). The ideal candidate will be a very organised, strong relationship builder with a vibrant Christian faith.

This key role involves training, leading and supporting new and established TLG EI and ML Programmes, working mainly with the Volunteer Coordinators who are leading their team of volunteers. The Regional Leader will be required to support progress against set key performance indicators to ensure the best possible support is given for thriving programmes.

TLG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and their families and expects all staff including volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. The role will require you to travel. You will also be expected to attend events & meetings during the year as required along with visits to National Support Office in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

The role involves taking a lead with the planning and delivery of lessons, leading sessions as timetabled and providing one-to-one support as appropriate to bring excellence to the young people’s learning experience.  The individual will also act as a link between TLG’s students, their families and the church community.

The Supporter Development team is passionate about developing the UK-wide reach and support of TLG. We exist because of the partnership with our incredible supporters and volunteers throughout the UK. This exciting, growing team is dedicated to further inspiring and building relationships with supporters so that together we can have a greater impact on struggling children and their families.

This role involves phoning existing and potential supporters to inspire them about the life transforming work of TLG. With excellent communication skills, the post holder will be responsible for connecting with supporters about a range of opportunities for them to engage with, and increase, their support of the charity. This team also has a strong focus on updating supporter contact information, so a keen eye for detail is necessary.

The post holder will be warm, friendly, driven, passionate, have great IT skills, be a strong communicator and must share a strong desire to see the lives of more children and families impacted by the local church throughout the UK!
