For this unique opportunity, we are looking for a seasoned capital market and digitally experienced business leader, who will lead the development and implementation of the Finance organisation and strategy, and will be responsible for the Finance function to achieve the company’s growth and shareholder value objectives.

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Muscat, Oman

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Develop and own the overall Finance Strategy for the third operator.
  • Setup the finance organisation with HR Director and CEO.
  • Ensures development of statutory financial statements of the company based on Omani GAAP.
  • Support the CEO with commercial planning and reporting across the company including equity and asset planning.
  • Prepare and update key financial governance policies including Delegation of Authority, Financial limits, Commercial approvals for the Steering Comittee and Board approval.
  • If joining during pre-launch phase until 2020, lead the set-up of the Finance function together with Finance project lead, including systems, policies, process and procedures.
  • Establish key finance operations systems and processes, including Purchase to Pay, Record to Report etc.
  • Develop a suitable internal controls framework.
  • Build and maintain financial reporting capabilities for both internal management reporting and external statutory reporting.
  • Develop financial budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Provide finance business partnering to the commercial, technology and support teams.
  • Provide Treasury cash management and Tax support.
  • Be a great people leader to the Finance function’s team and further develop the Finance team’s capabilities.

Chief Financial Officer . Core competencies, knowledge and experience :

  • Minimum 10 years+with relevant experience in the telecoms industry, and substantial experience of the relevant fields of competence including Financial Operations, Asset management, FDS, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury and Audit.
  • Experience in raising syndicated long-term finance with international lenders, working capital facilities and equity.
  • Experience in shareholders relations as well as loan management.
  • Substantial experience in management at senior level, presenting to Exco level stakeholders, managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Setting up a Finance functions competence from a start-up mode with good relationships in the Oman bank and financial insituations for potential IPO and or Merger & Aquisition initatives.
  • International experience across different cultures.

  • During pre-launch phase finalise the business case and manage spend in line with it.
  • Existing Finance Strategy, asset management and equity planing.
  • Set up an effective Finance function including people, systems, policies, process and procedures.
  • Implement financial budgeting and reporting processes and outputs.
  • Minimum cash availability.
