Job in Bavaria, Germany: HSE Manager.

This high-capacity transmission link will provide a 700km link between off-shore wind turbines in the north, and solar farms in the south. This transformational project presents fantastic career opportunities.

The Program Health, Safety, and Environment Manager provides direct leadership in the development, implementation, and continual improvement of a health and safety behavior-based program, in direct collaboration with the client organization.

Leading behavior-based H&S program during all phases of delivery.

Regular monitoring and reporting of program performance to key central and regional leadership.

Ensuring that the Program complies with the clients’ requirements, Jacobs’ Corporate requirements, and all regulatory requirements in Germany

Developing the Program’s requirements, tools, and forms;

Tracking and trending incidents, near misses, and safe work observations at all project sites;

Coordinating and reviewing H&S contractual language;

Coordinating with and reviewing the H&S requirements for project sites with the client’s H&S Director.

Maintaining updates to the Program HSE Manual.

Implement expectations of the manual across all projects and ensure compliance with its requirements.

Conduct necessary training and orientation to PMO, PMs, and technical staff related to the implementation of the HSE program and to drive continual improvement of the projects and the program as a whole.

Conduct safety audits and drive continual improvement through the audit changes at the project level and the program level.

Direct and support the assignment of leads safety staff (SSC and/or Safety Manager) to individual projects.

Work closely with the Program Director and Project Managers to identify needs for increase safety awareness.

Keep PMO informed on status of behavior- based safety on projects on a regular basis and highlighting trends in performance.

Discuss trends, challenges, and best practices with other Programs to raise awareness.

Ensuring that staff engaged projects on the program have the appropriate training and medical surveillance required for project site activities.

Assure compliance of all site HASP and job hazard analyses with Program and client requirements.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in safety management, project management and leadership experience in successfully engaging with client and project teams with safety programs and auditing

Degree in Engineering, Business or Construction Management, or equivalent training and experience

People management skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work closely with peers and external customers

Experience dealing with mangers of line management support organizations and their respective work package managers
