Job Purpose
 
The HR Advisor is responsible for the front-line delivery of a full Human Resources operational role, supporting primarily the London based Trading and Shipping business employees
 
The Advisor will participate as an active member of the business team and wider functional HR team to deliver integrated approaches to HR.

Provides HR support to: ca.60 employees

Principle Accountabilities
 
Supporting managers, team leaders and employees on all people related issues
Work with the local leadership team to ensure HR policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently to all employees
Deliver compensation and benefit activities for the team; including job evaluation, promotion processes and salary management within country and business guidelines
Coach and support line managers in all performance management topics (discipline, grievance, capability, appraisals, upward feedback, absence management …) to set performance standards in line with the business requirements / legal compliance
Deliver employee development and succession planning to ensure the right levels of competency, skills and talent
Support business resourcing requirements ensuring all vacancies are filled in a timely, efficient and effective manner
Lead specific HR project activities on an “as required” basis
Liaise and work with the appointed HR Co-ordinator and payroll provider (both at a remote location) to deliver the HR objectives accurately
Ensure effective use of available HRIS and database systems to support managers / individuals, ensuring accuracy of data maintained and provided
Provision of HR functional data to the INEOS group, as required, for the designated and supported employee population

The HRA reports directly to the HR Organisation, but has a strong line into the senior leaders of the teams supported
 
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
 

HR professional, degree qualified and CIPD membership preferable

Likely minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in generalist HR activity, ideally in a stand-alone environment
Operational expertise in all HR generalist areas (e.g. recruitment, performance management, manpower planning, facilitation etc)
Well-developed coaching, facilitation and communication skills at all levels – ability to influence effectively
Ability to understand and support the business issues within the specific sector
The ability to make sound personal HR judgements and wise decisions based on evaluating data and deciding on a course of action, engaging Managers in outcome
Ability to proactively support and drive change with a hands on approach
Positive, ‘can-do’ mind-set, with a real focus on delivery
Ability to deliver role on standalone basis with Line Manager and Administration support both at remote location to London base
