Logistics Planner – Inventory Control

As a member of the Logistics and Distribution team, your primary responsibility will be to manage the inventory control system for finished goods and packaging.

This includes validating transaction accuracy, investigating and correcting errors, cycle counting, coordinating quarterly physical inventory counts and ensuring data integrity between our WMS and SAP systems.

With continuous improvement in mind, you will report your findings to the supply chain team and make recommendations for process improvement.

Logistics Planner – Cambridge, Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure inventory accuracy and lot traceability is maintained through validation of inbound, outbound and warehouse transactions according to food safety requirements.
  • Manage cycle counting and physical inventory programs as required to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform inventory and process spot checks as required.
  • Analyze, identify and correct inventory issues.
  • Complete post audit inventory reconciliations.
  • Complete audits of offsite inventory including in transit, offsite and 3PL locations.
  • Maintain and manage inventory key performance indicators and required reporting.
  • Review work instructions and update as required to reflect changes and ensure compliance with our food safety programs.
  • Complete new employee set up and training of the warehouse management system.
  • Ensure SKU master data is accurate and up to date.
  • Ensure accuracy and availability of pallet inventory to support the plant and warehouse operations.
  • Pursue, recommend and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

Logistics Planner. Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a Business/Supply Chain related field.
  • 2 – 4 years of previous experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Strong in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail.
