Project Management Office Manager – Toronto, Canada. Our Opportunity

The Business Transformation Office (BTO) is dedicated to the achievement of organizational productivity objectives. The Project Management Office (PMO) Manager – Transformation Office is responsible for the management of the Continuous Improvement stage and gate process, executive level reporting of results, and will provide project management leadership for high priority initiatives. The role has significant exposure and engagement with all functions of the organization as well as Senior Leadership. Success in the role will be measured by the ability to achieve organizational productivity targets through effective management of the CI process and by helping to drive productivity initiatives to implementation. The position reports to the Director, Business Transformation Office.

Project Management Office Manager – Toronto, Canada. Key Responsibilities:

Routine and Process Governance (50%). Provide strategic and operational oversight for the Continuous Improvement Steerco and the Continuous Improvement stages and gates approval process. Consult on presentation content, prepare pre-read materials and facilitate weekly Steerco meetings with Transformation Office Executive Team.

Project Management (20%). Partner with business leaders across multiple functions to provide project management leadership for high impact projects including the development of charters (identify project objectives, scope and deliverables), project timelines, risk mitigation strategies, and stewardship through the approval process. Key responsibilities also include holding project teams accountable to achieve deliverables, deadlines, and post-implementation reviews and analysis.

Productivity Tracking and Reporting (20%). Consolidate financial updates from the project teams and provide monthly financial and project pipeline status updates to the Executive Leadership team. Maintains risks and opportunities summaries and also provides monthly MDA report to the Board of Directors.

People and Capability Development (5%). Provide project management training and development for project teams to help successfully operate within the approval process. Identify best practices to support continuous improvement activities, drive efficiency, and promote consistency across business project teams.

Pipeline of Value Development (5%). Proactively seek productivity opportunities within the organization with a continuous improvement mindset to maintain a robust pipeline of productivity value.

Project Management Office Manager – Toronto, Canada. Skills Required:

Advanced communication – Clearly communicate with internal stakeholders via verbal, written and presentation mediums. Provide executive level reporting and ppt presentations. English speaking required. Ability to read/write/speak French is an asset.

Project Management – Provide project management support including objective setting, project planning, ensure teams achieves deadlines and deliverables, manages project scope and problem solves risks.

Financial Acumen – functional knowledge of the P&L statement and budgeting process.

Process management – Drives standardization, is detail oriented, organized and disciplined.

Computer Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (excel, ppt, teams) and project management software (such as smartsheets). SAP experience is an asset.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management Certification or equivalent work experience.

3-5 years of project management experience in a sales and/or operations environment

Understanding of economics and cost/benefit analysis related to project management work through experience in the CPG industry.
