The Data Analyst Lead will function in a specialist role for the Quality and Infection Prevention Departments.
The scope of this position includes data entry and abstraction, analysis of healthcare data including patient population trends and physician practice patterns (i.e.: hospital acquired conditions, infections, practice evaluations, etc.). This position will analyze and manage data from various database systems (i.e.: Meditech, HCA dashboards, Quintiles, Excel, Access, etc.). The analyst creates and maintains clinical and statistical data, and abstracts data elements required by designations, state requirements, and the facility itself. This position is accountable for the collection, completion, and verification of the accuracy of data collected from the hospital. This position is crucial to the implementation of data management and improvement of administrative functions in the areas mentioned above.

Data Entry Job Description General Responsibilities
Collect, analyze and prepare data for ongoing requests and reports.
- Writing of data queries and reports to collect data.
- Record review for data collection and/or confirmation.
- Preparation of numeric or graphical data presentations as needed.
- Data entry and abstraction as required.
Manage the data input/output, database management, and report writing from central database systems, such as Meditech, Quintiles, Tableau.
Must possess exceptional computer skills and demonstrate proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, which are all necessary for the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports.
Analyze, track and trend data, and utilize performance improvement tools and techniques, such as graphs, run charts, control charts in performance improvement reports.
Maintain integrity of system data elements, troubleshoot and fix discrepancies and submit data on schedule.
Collaborate with quality team to understand data need to support existing dashboard.
Provide education on report creation, data collection and reporting end users.
Work directly with the Quality and Infection Prevention Departments and Executive Office to provide and present data summaries as requested.
Participate and contribute to various hospital committees as well as quality/process improvement activities.
Develop logical and conceptual data flows that support departmental project requirements and guides departments in appropriate and effective use of data.
All other duties as assigned.
What is Data Entry? Qualifications
Required: 1-3 years of experience working in a database environment. 2+ years of working in a hospital setting. Independent analytical thinking skills.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Preferred: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
